Subscription stories, in motion

Complex billing.
Clear movement.

Turning the invisible work of subscriptions into something you can see, follow, and feel.

Every number
has a story.

The original Recurly Research experience turned dense subscription data into an explorable story.

This interpretation keeps that spirit: change the view, select a group, and let the data explain itself.

Sample values demonstrate the interaction. They are not Recurly benchmarks or client results.

01

Motion with a job.

The invoice changes as a subscription changes. Every transition explains a piece of the lifecycle.

02

Details within reach.

Filters and direct selection turn a chart into a conversation. No hidden hover-only information.

03

A smaller canvas.
The whole story.

On mobile, the same data and controls take a more compact shape. The meaning stays intact.

A new look.
A familiar rhythm.

My earlier Recurly work included detailed UI development, animated charts, graphs and maps, and creative solutions for mobile layouts.

The sequential billing animation and interactive research charts are the starting point for this new study. The page you’re exploring is a present-day interpretation, created for my portfolio.
